Denver Airport Could Get a $1 Billion Upgrade

Officials from the Denver International Airport are finishing up the details of a public-private partnership to undertake a massive redevelopment of the airport's Great Hall.

The Denver Post editorial board gives a positive review for a "massive redevelopment" proposed for the Denver International Airport.

Jon Murray reported on the details of the proposed $1 billion redevelopment earlier this month—the redevelopment aims to increase capacity and amenities at the airport.

The editorial board's concern is the precedent set by the development of the airport, completed 22 years ago behind schedule and over budget. The editorial board decides, however, that the partnership is "worthy of serious consideration," prior to City Council consideration of the contract in July.
