77 successful drone deliveries were made in the month of November from one 7-Eleven store in Reno, Nevada to customers in the city.

Jason Hidalgo of the Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Reno-based drone delivery company Flirteyhas successfully completed 77 on-demand drone deliveries from a 7-Eleven store to customers in the Reno-metro area. The milestone in deliveries shows the practicality of drone based deliveries in denser metro areas. Hidalgo reports that the average delivery time from the store to the recipient was 10 minutes.
The November deliveries in partnership with 7-Eleven represent the first example of full-fledged drone deliveries by the Reno-based company in a busy, populated area. The deliveries also give Flirtey a headstart over rival drone operations from Amazon and Google parent company Alphabet.
The Flirtey deliveries used a custom app that allowed users to track their slurpees and hot dogs from the 7-Eleven pick-up point to their arrival at the front door. The drone delivery partnership is expected to expand in 2017.
