Drivers get a sticker for their rear view mirrors, and bikers get the gift of knowing that people behind the wheel share the responsibility for road safety.

Steve Annear reports: "Drivers in Cambridge renewing their resident parking permits will now receive something extra for their cars: rectangular stickers to place on the driver’s side mirror that remind them to keep an eye out for oncoming cyclists."
Compare the idea to the more common practice of victim blaming, and putting the onus of safety on the road's more vulnerable users.
Cambridge is rolling out the safety campaign in time as it's opening several new protected bike lanes around the city.
