Dan Rivoli reports on a plan to help New York residents cope with the impending closure of the L Train line: "Brooklyn and Manhattan pols on either side of the East River endorsed a gondola, called Skyway, to carry displaced riders into the city center, according to a letter released Thursday."

Assemblyman Joe Lentol (D-Brooklyn) signed a letter with Rep. Carolyn Maloney and Councilman Steve Levin, asking Mayor Bill de Blasio to support the proposal, full name East River Skyway. "The officials believe it would take the pressure off other modes of transportation that have to handle the L train’s 250,000 daily riders," according to Rivoli.

The East River Skyway website shows a proposed route connecting the Williamsburg Bridge Plaza Bus Terminal in Brooklyn to Delancey Street in Manhattan. The entire trip would take five minutes, according to the website.
