A pilot project will install solar power along a highway through The Ray, a highway corridor named in memory of sustainable business pioneer Ray C. Anderson.
“The Georgia Public Service Commission (GPSC) approved the installation of one megawatt of solar generation in the right-of-way along Interstate 85 in Troup County, Ga.,” according to an article on the Southeast Green website.
“The Georgia Power Company will own the project, and construction must be completed by December 2019.” The solar installation will be built on “The Ray”—the corridor billed as the “high of the future” when announced in December 2015.
