"Philadelphians and their suburban neighbors own a heck of a lot of the Jersey Shore," according to an article by Mari A. Schaefer.

An analysis "of residential and vacant properties in 22 Shore municipalities across Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean Counties from 2016 shows that a majority of the properties in all but one Shore town are owned by out-of-towners," adds Schaefer.

The post includes an interactive map to illustrate the point, literally connecting the dots between the Shore and Philadelphia.

The feature-length article also provides multiple anecdotes about life on the shore and its connections to Philadelphia.
