Urban Milwaukee shared a press release from the Milwaukee County Transit System announcing a new website to launch a public outreach process for a Bus Rapid Transit Feasibility Study. "The website, EastWestBRT.com, includes background on the potential project, benefits of BRT, some common questions and answers, short videos showing what BRT could look like and the map of the potential routes that are being studied," according to the release.

The press release also announces two initial public information meetings, to be held in April. The project website sets a timetable that includes the selection of a locally preferred alternative in July 2016.

For more background on the project, Matthew Wisla reported on the initial discussion about the proposal back in January, when Milwaukee County officials were evaluating proposals for the planning phases of the project. Wisla summarizes the scope of the BRT route as connecting "city residents with western job centers such as the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Don Behm reported in December on a study by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students finding economic benefits for the proposed route.
