The availability of parking can make or break opinions of neighborhoods, and renters are especially likely to be impacted by parking difficulties.
Mark Uh presents the finding of a Trulia study that aims to reveal the best neighborhoods for parking. According to Uh, "we dug into the data for some of the densest, most notoriously-crowded U.S. cities to identify those neighborhoods where finding a spot for your car was just as, or maybe even more, difficult than finding a place to live."
The study analyzed seven cities (Houston, New York (Manhattan and Brooklyn), Philadelphia, Portland, Ore., San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.) and identified what Uh describes as interesting trends. The study created what Trulia calls a Parking Score for all of the Trulia rental listings in those cities "to determine which neighborhoods…had the easiest or toughest street parking."
The post provides more information on the methodology of the study, as well as maps, inforgaphics, and rankings by neighborhoods, to help illustrate the parking situation of the seven cities under consideration.
