The latest and possibly final version of the GIS Code of Ethics is availableon the URISA website for review and comment. The last public review periodwas condensed due to the initiative's ambitious time frame and somementioned that they wish they would have had more time to leave theirthoughts. The current version will be available on the web until November 15, 2002. This will be your last chance to comment on this importantdocument. "This Code of Ethics is intended to provide guidelines for GIS (geographic information system) professionals. It should help professionals make appropriate and ethical choices. It should provide a basis for evaluating their work and the work of others from a moral point of view. Individuals violating this code will be criticized by their professional colleagues. By following this code, GIS professionals will help to preserve and enhance public trust in the discipline."
