Pittsburgh will attempt to spur economic development and streamline the city's permitting and code enforcement process by reorganizing the Bureau of Building Inspection.
"Mayor Bill Peduto announced a sweeping reorganization of the city’s Bureau of Building Inspection during his State of the City address and budget presentation to city council," reports Robert Zullo.
"The mayor and his top administrator said the bureau will be moved from the Department of Public Safety and become its own entity, which will be called the Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections…" The reorganization would need to be approved by the Pittsburgh City Council.
