There's only so much we can glean about a city from professionally shot photos, which seek to tell, or supplement, a particular story. But the real truth about cities comes from those who live and work in them.
In a blog post, Future Cities has rounded up 30 user-submitted photos from cities all over the globe -- everywhere from New York, to Hong Kong, to Kathmandu, and beyond. As the blog states, "Viewed together, this sampling of photos truly represents the diversity, as well as the commonalities, inherent in our global cities."
