"For a book on urban planning, it is very readable. Authors Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, and Jeff Speck write accessibly, despite the book's oddly polemic tone...The premise is simple: to make authentic neighborhoods, you must plan for people instead of automobiles. No architect or planner can argue with that. But the Duany, Plater-Zyberk crowd have run into trouble with the architectural establishment and some urban planners for two reasons."
