Malibu Acquisition Largest In 20 Years

A $43 million mountain-to-sea parcel of 1,659 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains will become parkland.

The American Land Conservancy of San Francisco will buy the 1,659 acres in Malibu, California and then will turn it over to the state. The Governor has set aside $40 million in the state budget for the deal. Residents and commercial enterprises on the land have hired attorneys.
