The City of Industry has purchased most of the Firestone Boy Scout camp for $16.5 million. A cloud of controversy follows.

The 2,533-acre Firestone camp is considered to be among the most ecologically significant areas in LA County. The City of Industry states that a reservoir will be built on the property. Opponents fear that commercial development will take place. They also allege that favoritism and conflict of interest occured in the sale.
