"Though Buena Vista Mobile Home Park sits on El Camino Real, the major thoroughfare in Silicon Valley, people are barely aware of it, even here in Palo Alto." Residents say that the park is not well-known because the world around them chooses not to see it. "It is hard to admit living in the last trailer park in the land of high-tech milk and honey, where amillion dollars will buy a three-bedroom, two- bath ranch. " One of the trailer park residents, a school teacher earning $60,000 a year, says he lives there because he cannot afford an apartment in Silicon Valley. Even in the trailer park, the rents are high.
