Via Metropolitan Transit, which serves San Antonio, has greenlit a $1.1 billion capital improvements plan. The five-year plan includes funding for advanced rapid transit and a new Eastside Transit Center.

The agency has also “begun construction of its Via Rapid Green line that will carry passengers on new train-like vehicles across a dedicated roadway from the San Antonio International Airport area through downtown and south of the center city,” W. Scott Bailey writes for San Antonio Business Journal. The agency expects to open the new line by spring 2028.
