Road safety in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a “public health crisis" according to Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization Project Manager Will Snyder. Now, the CRTPO has released a survey asking residents to identify roads and intersections they feel are unsafe as part of a new effort to reduce serious crashes.
The goal of the survey is to identify short term improvements to road safety in Charlotte, and larger investments that could be developed over time, Walker Lawson writes for Yahoo News.

"We will develop a safety action plan document that tells our organization and other communities what policies, programs, funding, infrastructure can be put in place with a focus on what can be done quickly like restriping, adding flex posts as we wait for the bigger multimillion-dollar investments to come later," Snyder said.
