The 400 South Viaduct Trail features the state's longest continuous piece of public art.
Salt Lake City's redesigned 400 South Viaduct Trail bridge opened this week, offering people walking and biking a link between downtown SLC and the Granary District.
As Tony Semerad explains in The Salt Lake Tribune, the bridge now features a bike lane protected by concrete barriers and the state's longest continuous piece of public art. "The installation features a decorative bridge fence with translucent pieces rendered in colors drawn from surrounding neighborhoods and landscapes."
According to Semerad, "The route also links into improved bike lanes along 300 West, 200 West and 900 West, creating safer access for pedestrians and cyclists to key downtown destinations, the 9 Line and portions of the Jordan River."
