If signed by the governor, the bill will create a task force aimed at developing a regional passenger rail system.

The Nevada state legislature approved a bill that would establish a task force for regional passenger rail.
According to a report by Kenzie Margiott for KRNV News 4, Assembly Bill 256 was passed unanimously and awaits Governor Joe Lombardo’s signature. “The task force will assess feasibility, regional benefits, funding opportunities, and potential partnerships, paving the way for clean, efficient, and equitable public transportation,” Marriott adds.
Assemblymember Selena La Rue Hatch, who sponsored the bill, said “Regional rail will improve the quality of life for all Nevadans while creating good paying jobs, reducing emissions, and lower costs for working Nevadans.”
