The search for new road funding continues in Michigan.
"Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed a bill giving the Michigan Department of Transportation the green light to pursue a study on toll roads in Michigan," reports Chanel Stitt.
The study will explore the feasibility of tolls, the highways best suited for a tolling system, and the potential economic impact of tolls, according to Stitt.
The toll road proposal comes after Republicans in the State Legislature rejected a proposal by Gov. Whitmer to impose a 45-cent-per-gallon tax on gas in the state to fund road improvements.
