The Philadelphia Inquirer is testing a new kind of app to improve engagement with the built environment.
A recent article put out a call for the public to test a "new way to read and learn about Philadelphia"—namely, a new app called HERE, which "notifies you as you pass by places in Philadelphia that have been written about by The Inquirer’s arts, architecture, and real estate reporters."
"These aren’t breaking news alerts — they’re 'on this block' alerts," according to the article.
The Lenfest Local Lab partnered with the Inquirer to develop the app.
