New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani admitted that he will have to delay fulfilling his high-profile campaign promise to make NYC buses "fast and free," according to an article in National Today.
"The delay in delivering on a high-profile campaign promise highlights the challenges of governing versus campaigning, as Mamdani must navigate logistical and financial obstacles to achieve his affordability agenda." Mamdani and other city officials say funding shortages and difficulties in coordination with transit agencies are holding back the effort to implement free transit.
