Until last week, it was illegal to live in a car in San Diego.
"The San Diego City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to repeal a 35-year-old law that has made it illegal for people to live inside vehicles," reports David Garrick.
Councilmembers are quoted in the article describing the measure as a step toward decriminalizing homelessness, but a "stop gap" on the way to providing better options for the homeless people living in the city.
The city's action also follows an order from a federal judge that the city stop ticketing people under the law.
