"The new edition of the Global Metro Monitor reveals a changing landscape of urban economic power, one dominated increasingly by metro areas in emerging countries," according to an article by Max Bouchet and Joseph Parilla for Brookings.

The Global Metro Monitor is Brookings' annual growth report, this year analyzing the period from 2014 to 2016. The latest edition of the report locates seven out of the world's top ten performers in Asia. The top two on the list, however, are Dublin, Ireland, and San Jose, California. San Francisco comes in at number four.

The article includes specific insight into the performance of each of the top ten global performers.
