Fares for the Bishop Arts Streetcar will rise $1—to $1.

The Bishop Arts Streetcar, which operates between downtown Dallas and the Bishop Arts District, will soon raise fares—from free to $1 a ride.
"Dallas Area Rapid Transit officials previously projected that they'd lose about 20,000 of their 151,500 annual streetcar riders -- about a quarter of the nearly 76,000 who they believe ride the streetcar now without transferring to a DART bus or train -- because of the fare," reports Tristan Hallman.
The change is times to coincide with the rollout of a new "contactless" touch-card payment system for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
