Planner

The Municipality of Princeton’s Planning Department is seeking an emerging professional to join our team in a full-time position with benefits.

The Planner position works with other members of the Planning Department, including the Office of Historic Preservation within it, and the interdepartmental Land Use Team. The Planner performs a variety of complex technical planning duties and provides support and service to the public and Planning Department.

Essential functions include: Perform professional level planning work, including participating in zoning updates and special planning projects. Assists senior level staff as backup to major land use cases. Review site plan and historic preservation plan applications to assist senior staff. Prepare and present reports and recommendations on land use and historic preservation. Serve on committees, attend afternoon or evening commission and board meetings for the purpose of taking notes, transcribing, and distributing comprehensive meeting minutes. Collect data and conduct research projects, including with the use of GIS mapping software.
