Cam Hardy is a 28-year-old bachelor, on a quest to save the Cincinnati's bus service. Hardy cofounded the Better Bus Coalition to advocate for bus riders in the city. "He shows up to Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority meetings in person, demanding that SORTA, which runs Cincinnati's Metro system, put a levy on the ballot this November," Hannah Sparling reports Cincinnati Enquirer.

Hardy argues that the patchy service in the city disproportionately affects poor African Americans, a group that's easy for politicians to ignore, he says. Many of the buses are running late and don't have AC at the same time the system is in bad financial straits. "SORTA is projecting a $184 million deficit over the next decade; something has to change, Hardy said," Sparling writes.
