"A dark and dreary no man’s land beneath the Southeast Expressway will soon be remade into Boston’s newest urban playground," reports Tim Logan.

The new underpass park is the work of National Development, to be built across the street from the company's Ink Block complex. The future site of underpass park is currently an "empty paved surface," according to Logan.

"The state-owned land has recently been re-designed and landscaped by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, which is handing it to National Development to manage under a 35-year-lease," explains Logan of the process that led to the forthcoming transformation.

Once complete, Ink Underground (the name for the park) will host "fitness classes, concerts, corporate gatherings, and other events" and include a dog park and street art.
