New and improved bus service launched on the South Side of Chicago over Labor Day weekend.
John Greenfield reports on a suite of bus transit improvements rolling out on the South Side of Chicago.
According to Greenfield, six bus lines on the South Sides will offer "more frequent and/or extended service," including a new #95 95th bus line, extended #4 Cottage Grove line, and more frequent service on #71 71st/South Shore. All of those improvements began Sunday, September 4.
On September 6, #34 South Michigan and #119 Michigan/119th will offer more frequent midday and evening service, and #26 South Shore Express will be extended.
Greenfield also speculates about the political advantages to announcing the service improvements for the embattled administration of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
