It doesn't matter what country you're from, if you like to ride your bike in beautiful places away from cars, you'll be envious of Canada's Great Trail.
Jeremy Hazan reports: "Canada has its very own 'car-free highway' currently being built and so far it’s 20,770 km long!"
Hazan notes that the plans for the "Great Trail" are a lot grander than the big "Bike Autobahn" news out of Germany earlier this year.
Construction on the Trans Canada Trail began in 1992. The Great Trail will complete the project in 2017, "just in time for Canada’s 150th anniversary." Hazan adds: "So far over 87% of the trail is complete, and it already connects most of the major cities in Canada."
