Though the congressional process of providing a bill that sets the funding agenda for the nation's transportation infrastructure seems to finally be moving forward, Georgia couldn't continue waiting.
"Congress’ failure to pass long-term transportation funding legislation is forcing the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to postpone $123 million in road projects that were due to go out for bids in December," according to an article by Dave Williams.
In total, 34 projects across the state will be delayed by the GDOT's decision. "The largest projects the agency is postponing are $45 million in resurfacing and other maintenance work on Interstate 75 just south of the Tennessee line and $20 million for similar work along I-75 in Tift and Turner counties," reports Williams.
