Revealed: Dan Gilbert's Next Detroit Redevelopment Investment

The neighborhood of Brush Park will be home to the latest big investment by Quicken Loans founder and Detroit patron Dan Gilbert. $70 million will build 337 new housing units on 8.4 acres.

"Detroit's Brush Park neighborhood's northern end would be transformed into a high-density complex of multifamily housing with retail and commercial space under a plan unveiled [May 6] by a redevelopment partnership that includes billionaire Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Development Co," reports Matt Helms and JC Reindl.

The rendering reveal was huge news in Detroit on May 6—Helms and Reindl attended the announcement, live tweeting the event and sharing photos of the renderings as soon as they were available.
