Inside big redevelopment plans for Brush Park in Detroit—one of the neighborhoods attracting investment attention from Dan Gilbert.
"Los Angeles-based studio, Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA) are designing a major complex in Brush Park, Detroit for Brush Park Development Company. (Billionaire Dan Gilbert‘s [sic] Bedrock Real Estate Services are the driving force behind Brush Park)," reports Jason Sayer. "Totaling 210,00 square foot, the scheme comprises four lots where a combination of residential and mixed-use buildings will be constructed."
LOHA calls the project the "city's largest residential project in decades," and designs the project with the goal of "[complimenting] Brush Park’s low-rise and historical suburban scene while increasing density within the area." Sayer digs into the details of how LOHA intends to achieve those goals, both from site planning and urban design perspectives.
Ian Thibodeau covered the development plans for Brush Park in February, as did Mathew Messner in May.
