CA Freeways To Join Rest Of The Nation

California will finally join the rest of the nation in numbering its state and interstate freeway exits.

It has been a Federal Highway Administration requirement since the late 1950s. But since California already had an extensive freeway system by then, it was exempt. The new system will help tourists and it is hoped that it will reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers cutting across lanes when they reach their exit.
