Ramps, wider doorways and hallways, and space for an elevator are also considerations. Those opposed to these changes say that extra cost for these upgrades is a concern, especially since they are not routinely needed by residents. Additionally, small lots at high prices necessitate the use of all space for family living. Advocates for the disabled indicate that owners may not think that they will need these changes, but as people age, they may appreciate the features.
