A leading advocate for San Francisco Valley secession has said that the city-hood plan is "a recipe for disaster." Others are wondering if the secession movement is doomed. The current plan leaves the Valley with little to call their own. SFV would contract with Los Angeles for most of their services, and the Valley government would own nothing but their streets. Even anti-secessionists are organizing, claiming that they wish to remain a part of the bigger city.
