"Designed for pedestrians only and not directly accessible by car, the 385,000- square-foot Downtown Disney is a collection of nightclubs, restaurants and so-called entertainment retail. The unusual shopping street has a dual purpose. The first is to be a sort of front yard for two Disney theme parks, as well as two Disney-owned hotels, all of which have entrances on the street.The second purpose of Downtown Disney is to be an attraction in its own right. Unlike the theme parks, Downtown Disney is a public street and charges no admission fee."
