Roger Snoble, DART's top executive, has accepted an offer to lead the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
"Many regional leaders credit Mr. Snoble with steering Dallas Area Rapid Transit from its troubled past to making it an award-winning mass transit agency. ... Los Angeles has been searching for a chief executive officer since January, when Julian Burke announced his retirement. Like DART, the agency operates a multifaceted transportation system light-rail lines, buses and carpool lanes and it teams with other agencies to offer commuter-rail service."
