"It was early one Saturday morning when Leanne Staples awoke to the thunder and rattle of what felt like an earthquake shaking her house.Bleary-eyed and still in her pyjamas, she jumped out of bed only to find it wasn't an earthquake at all - it was an eviction notice, in the form of a sledgehammer hitting the wall...Ted Wright has a gentrification equation. To find out where the next hot neighbourhood will be, 'go to a rundown area and see who's buying. Then pick 10 or 15 buildings and see who owns them. If they are people who don't live in the neighbourhood, that's a good indication it's already being gentrified.'
