Minority-owned businesses in Southern California are significantly contributing to the growth of the regions economy, but need better access to technology, markets outside their traditional ethnic communities and capital to expand and create more economic opportunity, according to a landmark study released today by the non-profit group CDTech and Merrill Lynch. The Southern California Minority Small Business Atlas, the first comprehensive study of minority businesses in Los Angeles and Orange counties, presents a snapshot of the challenges and opportunities facing minority-owned small businesses. The survey included interviews with more than 1,200 businesses from the six of the largest ethnic groups in the area. The full text of the report is available on the website.
