Facing threat of lawsuits, California city declines zoning against massive homes.

Palos Verdes Estates had moved closer to regulation of massive homes than its South Bay neighbors until public outcryforced a compromise. A committee recommendation to zone against "mansionization" was shelved, in favor of guidelines underwhich new homes twice the average size will "recieve added attention" from planners.
