The green funeral movement just got a major mobility upgrade — in the form of a sleek, beautifully-designed bicycle hearse now travelling the streets of Paris. The Corbicyclette was commissioned by the founder of funeral company Le Ciel & La Terre (Heaven and Earth) by the French adventure caravan company Carpate-Design.

“According to Le Ciel & La Terre, the hearse is anchored to the platform of an electrically assisted steel three-wheeled bicycle, the airtight compartment intended to accommodate the coffin is made of solid, light, natural and environmentally friendly marine plywood,” reports Momentum Magazine.

Momentum also reports on other advancements in the bicycle hearse space including Cycle Hearse UK, based in Cambridge but available for hire all across the UK. The OG, of course, was crafted in Copenhagen.
