The city’s Bublr Bikes provided over 100,000 rides in 2023 so far.

The popularity of biking and bike share is on the rise in Milwaukee, reports Ryan Burk for Spectrum News 1, where the city’s Bublr bike share system hit a ridership record in 2023 with over 100,000 rides.
The system’s ridership drops during the city’s harsh Wisconsin winters, but the system has started introducing e-bikes during the winter. “EBikes make the bike industry so much more accessible to people with a variety of abilities and age ranges, which I think is a beautiful thing that's happening in the industry as a whole,” said Bublr sponsorship and outreach manager Elizabeth Grout.
Shared mobility is seeing high ridership numbers around the country, but many systems face an uncertain future due to a lack of public funding or reluctance on the part of private operators to continue running them.
