Milwaukee is about to get a major community space upgrade thanks to one of its most recognizable hometown brands.

Harley Davidson is planning to overhaul its Milwaukee headquarters, including the addition of a major community park on land previously devoted to parking. The community park included in the plans will be designed by Heatherwick Studio—the same firm that designed the photogenic Little Island in Manhattan. Harley Davidson this week announced the first phase of the project via press release.
A groundbreaking is planned for 2023 with a 2024 park opening, reports Jeramey Jannene for Urban Milwaukee. The community space will be repurposed from multiple numerous parking lots, according to a tweet by Jannene.
