The planning commission in Rochester, New York recently released a proposed draft of a new zoning map, reports April Franklin for WXXI News.

The new zoning map implements the land use and transportation vision laid out in the Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan adopted by the city in 2019. The Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan received a 2020 Professional Award for Comprehensive Planning from the New York Upstate Chapter of the American Planning Association.

With a new project name—the Zoning Alignment Project—the Rochester 2034 is moving into implementation. The draft zoning map is already out to the public for review, with public hearings scheduled throughout the month of February.
