"The Riverfront Commons construction project in Covington is almost finished," reports Jake Ryle of the massive project that has been under development in Cincinnati's neighbor across the Ohio River for more than decade.

According to the article, the development presents a major reinvention of the waterfront in Covington. "Included in the commons is a 1,350-seat amphitheater, a canoe and kayak launch area, a bike and walking path as well as upgraded overlooks and possibly a new spot for festivals," report Ryle.

Previous phases of construction focused on an 11.5-mile walking and biking path along the Ohio River, spanning the distance between the six cities located on the south bank of the Ohio River, from the city of Ludlow to the west and the city of Ft. Thomas to the east. The trail also connects to the Purple People Bridge that crosses the river into Cincinnati from Newbury, Kentucky.
