Using Google Scholar Citation Profiles, Virginia Tech Planning Professor Tom Sanchez has created a database of planning research citations.

Tom Sanchez, professor of Urban Affairs and Planning at Virginia Tech, has published an annual analysis of academic citations for planning faculty with Google Scholar citation profiles (2019's analysis is here).
The 2020 Urban Planning Scholarly Citations post includes information on the most cited schools and individual planning researchers.
Earlier this year, Sanchez also published a paper on the most frequently cited topics in planning research, and gathered a list of planning faculty on Twitter, along with a social networking analysis of their contributions to that platform.
