Via will now operate in a much larger portion of Chicago.
John Greenfield reports that Via on-demand shuttle service is expanding its service area in Chicago "to include the Hermosa, Humboldt Park, and Mayfair neighborhoods, as well as Evanston." In all, the expansion increases Via's service area in the city of 20 percent.
Greenfield also endeavors to describe on-demand shuttles as a ride-hailing service that mitigates some of the concerns about companies like Uber and Lyft (e.g., " driving, congestion, pollution, and crashes").
