Rye Burzin reports that Texas wind power operators recently set a new record for total generation earlier this week.

"The record 17,920 megawatts of wind generation was hit at 3:32 p.m. Monday and made up more than 40 percent of power generation in the territory covered by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, Texas' grid operator," according to Durzin.

While the amount of wind power set a new record in total megawatts, it wasn't the highest-ever percentage of wind power in the grid. "That record was set on Oct. 27, 2017, when the 15,408 megawatts of wind generation made up more than 54 percent of power generation."
