"Amazon was revealed Wednesday night to be the tenant of a $250 million new development on the site of the demolished Pontiac Silverdome," reports Kirk Pinho.

"Dubbed 'Project Cougar' in Pontiac Planning Division documents related to the former home of the Detroit Lions, Atlanta-based Seefried Industrial Properties is proposing a 3.7 million-square-foot, two-building distribution campus for the Seattle-based e-commerce giant housing at least 1,500 full- and part-time workers," according to Pinho. The Pontiac Planning Commission has approved the permits for the campus project.

More details on the secrecy surrounding the project and the proposed future of the site are included in the source article.

Last Planetizen heard from the former home of the Detroit Lions, the Silverdome site was hosting a fleet of cars mothballed by the Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal.
